David Moody's Cobra and Mach I

The AC Cobra is a replica that my son Sam and I built starting when he was 14. Two years later the finished product sports a 5 liter fuel injected engine, five speed with two tone paint. The blue 69’ Mach is our latest completed project that has a 351W under the hood. We have a blast driving these two cars around.

GT optioned California Special with 4 speed trans and 390 High Performance.
Exterior paint and chrome are excellent. Only work planned at this time is

Don Potter - Membership #636

Don Potter and Julie Thibaut are new members to MCO and they own this 1968 GT 390 coupe (VIN: 8R01S102106).  Purchased Jul 02, Chicago, IL.  Since purchase the following work has been completed:  New front and rear suspension, brakes and all brake hardware, new fuel line, interior repainted, new seat covers front, new dash pad, motor rebuilt, exhaust replaced with Flowmaster Delta 50 series mufflers, new headlight wiring harness, and new vinyl top, 9" rear rebuilt with 3.50 gears and traction lock.  Interior work is an on going process as is the outside paint (hopefully summer of 04).  The car is one of only 894 GT 390 coupes with C-6 auto built for 1968 and is one of only 774 total coupes in 68 with highland green paint and nugget gold interior (Marti Autoworks).

Higley's Coupe  Higley's Trunk

Phil & Bonnie Higley's 1966 Coupe. Phil and Bonnie have been active members of the MCO for several years. They have done a top notch job restoring this coupe and they pay attention to details on this car! Always a great car to look at, even more fun for them to drive to Columbus from the Toledo area!

Jim McLeaster's Mach 1. Jim and Doris McLeaster are one of our club favorites! They recently sold their 73 Mustang Convertible, but now remain a part of our club with this fantastic looking Mach 1. Jim is the MCO Secretary and one of our long-time members whom we depend heavily on. It's members like Jim and Doris that keep the MCO a great club.

Bill Blake's 1966 Fastback  Bill's Mustang and T-Bird

Bill Blake's 1966 Fastback Pony. Bill is an active MCO member and enjoys his fastback. But Bill doesn't stop there, he is also active in the British Car Club and enjoys several classics from his storage barn. We value Bill's expertise and Club input. He keeps the club fresh with his suggestions and his very nice fastback.

Jill and Daryl Damschroder have been members of MCO since 1993. They originally fell in love with Mustangs back in '65 when Daryl purchased his 1st Mustang, a 64 1/2 Champaign Beige 200 C.I. 3 speed Coupe. It was sold before they got married in '67 and both have always regretted it. Finally in Aug of '87 they found another; a 200C.I. 3 speed Twilight Turquoise Coupe, purchased from the original owner in Toledo. In '89 they found a really nice '66 GT Coupe in Emberglo [one hot car]. Then in '89 they found another Twilight Turquoise Coupe with a 289 C.I. 3 speed just 7 miles from home; another original owner who had changed the color to Gray. In '95 they sold the '66 to finance the repainting of the 289 back to original Twilight Turquoise The pair of them became known in the club as the "Twins"  In the meantime they had to have a '94 when they came out; Jill's '94 Teal GT is her favorite and a daily driver.  In 2000  the 6 cyl was sold so there was only one car to show; then came the Bullitt #2313 in 2001. So they are back to showing 2 Pony's again. The '65 has been driven to Atlanta twice for the MCA's 20th & 25th Anniversary Shows and to Charlotte in '99 for the 35th Birthday Party. Jill and Daryl are already registered for the 40th next April in Nashville. Incidentally Jill and the Mustang share the same birth date of April 17th. She loves to tell people Ford brought out the Mustang on that date just for her.

Doug Yoder's 1966 Convertible. This Mustang was purchased from a close friend I worked with at Columbus State Community College. It was originally brought to Ohio from California by KAR Mustangs. When we purchased this convertible my son and I rebuilt the engine. It has been a fantastic father/son project and I recommend it for any Dad, son or daughter! We enjoy this Mustang and being a part of the MCO.

Matt Yoder's 2006 Coupe. This is Matt's third Mustang. His first was a 98 that was totaled in June 2004. The 2nd was a 2002 which was totalled on I-270, Dec 2008. Now he owns this Red 2006 whom he lovingly calls "Ginger". She has a Hurst shifter which Matt added immediately. Try to keep this one for a while will ya Matt?

Brian Niggemeyer is a recent new member to the MCO and has become very active right from the beginning. Brian is currently restoring this yellow, 1965 convertible. This is a recent purchase for Brian after having other vehicles. This 289 4 speed Mustang has a distinct sound when it approaches a car show with the new exhaust system that has recently been installed. Brian lives near Newark but the drive to Columbus never prevents him from attending car shows and club meetings.
Brian McDonald can boast being the proud owner of two Mustangs

The first is a
1969 Ford Mustang Sportsroof: 351C Motor, Automatic,
Mach1 Interior, Magnum500 wheels, and Washington state
origination. Brian bought the car in April 2007 and he says its a
Work In Process.
His other Mustang is a 1988 Ford Mustang GT with T-tops, This was the last  year for Mustang T-tops and only 800 were made with T-tops and a short throw. This 88 has a 5spd, 75hp wet NOS, Subframe connectors, 17" Cobra R wheels, cold air intake, 3.73 gears, Cervini
Fiberglass hood, Saleen rear spoiler, Autometer
gauges, and Flowmaster exhaust. AFR heads and
Edelbrock intake expected to be installed in the
spring for an extra 80-100hp.

Lewis R. Holland's Ride

I have a 2003 GT in Sonic Blue. The car has every option except the Mach 1000, it has the Mach 460. It is one of 765 that I can find and probably the only one with remote start, which I believe is from the factory. The car came out of Michigan and I think it was a Ford Exec's. car. It has the brushed aluminum pedal covers and foot rest plate, the argent air conditioning/radio trim and door locks which are all a factory option for 2003. I can find no documentation other than a Ford owner's manual for the remote start, which has a secondary security system.
This my third Mustang, I had an old Mach 1 years ago, and an early 80's Fox Body. At the recent Kreiger show I received an Award of Excellence award for the 2003. I have only recently joined the Mustang Club of Ohio and I am looking forward to many years of enjoyment out of my Mustang and the Mustang of Ohio Club.

Beth Cobb's rides

First ride: Beaux-Mustang-n type, (a mode of transportation equipped with 4 on the floor, positraction and dual rear hoofed drive. All models come with custom leather seats and produced so that no two are colored exactly the same. They are easy to operate, have programmable memories, are fuel efficient and environmentally friendly.) This mustang was produced in Gerlac, NV, he is a 2006 model and was produced in the month of May. Custom color, roan-not fully developed as of yet, lots of chrome as you can see.

Second ride: 1996 Mustang coupe. Pacific Green with Prismatic flakes in clearcoat, custom painted gold flaming ponies on the side. Side exhaust, bullet wheels, custom painted interior, cold air intake.

This 2006 Mustang belongs to Sheila Roberts. Sheila has added a Cervani Kit to her Stang to give it a unique look. I think you'll agree the color and add-on combinations make for a great looking ride!
Jim and Sandy Willoughby own this beautiful 1996 Mustang GT. They were recently Columbus residents but have moved to Dover Ohio. Jim says he hopes to make as many MCO events as he can during summer months. If you are at a show and see this Mustang being shown, take time to look it over. It's as close to factory fresh as any Mustang you'll see.

Larry and Cindy Shy

My name is Larry Shy. My wife Cindy and I have been in the club for several years. We have owned the 1965 for several years as well. It has the original 289 engine and transmission, both having been rebuilt. It has had a new interior, carpeting, seat covers, and top installed. For a 40 plus year old car it has a lot of life and a lot of pepe still left and is an extreme joy to drive.

Cindy's Mustang is a 2004 Azure blue Mach1. It is all factory original and has 2,500 miles on the car. Those 2,500 miles have been a lot of fun! Cindy bought the car in June of 2004 and has been in the club several years and enjoys it very much!

From the webmaster:  Both Cindy and Larry are great members and we enjoy having you both in the club! Larry, we finally got the pictures on the web!!

Jason and Nina Leach

Jason and Nina Leach joined the Club this year. Went to our first meeting in April. I think I will have a good time with this club.
My wife and I bought this back in 04 of August. Man I like to think I got one good deal when you consider I only paid 27,500 for this out the door!
Well enough of that now hear is what I have done to it so far.
1 painted on racing stripes
2 BBK cold air intake
3 BBK 75MM Throttle body
4 BBK upper intake plenum
Not to bad for now but the WIFE Won't let me spend to much more on it this year.
And by the way I only have 4300 miles on her and this car is always garage kept!

Mike Brining's Mustangs!

After growing up in El Segundo, California just two blocks from Carroll Shelby's Dealership and only five blocks from the Shelby  assembly hangar in 1965, I was hooked on anything Mustang. I had to wait 28 years until I bought my first Mustang - a 1969 Mach 1, but is was worth it.

The Mach 1 was an E-bay car purchased in May 2003 and it was in pretty bad shape. I spent the entire year getting it ready for the April 2004 Mustangs Across America 40th Anniversary Drive. For me, a 5,400 mile trip from Ohio to L.A. to Nashville and back home.

In July of 2004 I found a great 2001 GT Convertable that I have just begun tinkering with, however, somehow I think the GT will morph into a 2005 GT Fastback before 2005 comes to a close.  I have been a member of MCO since 2003 and an MCA members since 2002.

Nick Vallera's 66 Springtime Yellow Sprint 200

We have been gradually restoring and upgrading the car for the past 6 years.  Last year added a header and dual exhaust conversion.  No body believes it’s a six cylinder when they hear the car…..honestly.  The engine has been completely rebuilt and bored out, which also added a little power. Interior is deluxe Pony and has the full console and original wood steering wheel to finish it off.  We upgraded with the interior Rose Wood kit which really “classed” it up.

Paula Formentelli's  Redfire 2005 GT

That interior is fantastic! Paula and her husband Rob also own two other very nice Mustangs, so their stable is beginning to fill-up! All of them follow the Red theme and we at MCO can testify that each of their Mustangs are very nice! Congratulations Paula on a fantastic looking Mustang GT! We're betting it never sees snow, ice, or salt!

SNAKEPIT
2001 SVT COBRA
1 IN 52 BLACK/TAN
CONVERTIBLE
OWNERS ERNIE & CHERYL TULLER

Our Cobra story started in Toledo, Ohio. We were looking for a convertible and had really not decided on a particular color. While on a business trip I happened by a Chevy dealer and low and behold, front and center was a black 2001 convertible. Why was it at a Chevy dealer? Previous owner didn’t like the ride, had back problems and traded it for a van. Go figure!!

After a brief inspection the car only had 7,000 miles and looked show room new. Called Cheryl, ask her to drive from Columbus that day. We took it for a test drive and the rest is Mustang history.

We really didn’t know much about showing cars and a friend asks us to show at the Arthritis show. We joined the MCO at the show, met some really nice people and liked the experience. Since then we’ve participated in several shows over the past two years and had the privilege of being featured in the May 2004 issue of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords.

I wanted to show the car in a modified class and that’s when the fun started. Modifications are as follows. Bench HP is 485 at the flywheel

My car is a 1969 Mach 1 with the 390 engine option. I bought the car after it did not sell on e-Bay in early 2003. The car has always been in California and was drag raced with a blower engine extensively after being taken off the road in 1981. I had the car transported back to Ohio and began a year long restoration of the car. There was very little rust on the car, but the drag racing (with no engine compartment braces no less) and several rear collisions took their toll on the car over the years. The car was completely stripped and gutted, blasted to bare metal, and then painted and reassembled. While the body shop did most of the assembly work, body work, and paint, I did most of the other work to the car or helped at the local garage as the work was being done. I did all the interior replacement with the exception of the headliner. I still have some work to do such as redoing the upholstery and steering wheel and installing a stereo in the car. While far from perfect today given it's rough life before I got it, the car is mostly pampered now with the exception of the occasional "romp" on the throttle. After all it is a big block car and these cars were meant to run! :) I also run and maintain the 1969 390 Mustang World Registry at: www.1969scode.com which is only for 1969 390 Mustangs.
Scott A. Ekleberry

Billy and Beth Cobbs own this 302 5.0 5-speed, Teal with 2004 mystichrome and prismatic tribal flames, 17x8 bullit wheels, CDC side exhausts, March underdrive pulleys, fender mount cold intake, smoked headlights and cornerlamps, Dyno tested at: 245 hp at rearwheels, 275 lb torque at 4500 rpm. This pony runs as good as it looks!!They also have a 1996 Pacific green coupe which will be their next project. We'll wait for some pictures of that car soon!

Dan Trapp is one of the lucky MCO members who has 3 very nice looking Mustangs in his stable! Pictured here is his 1966 GT Coupe at the 2004 Columbus Auto Show.  The other picture is his 1986 SVO that is identical to his 1985 SVO (not pictured). Dan is one of those members who is willing to jump-in and help wherever needed. In case you didn't notice, he does a fantastic job on his Mustangs too!

This 2000 Mustang GT was purchased new in 2001 and has had the following mods : BBK X pipe, Flowmaster 40 series mufflers, MAC Cold Air Intake, 75MM BBK Throttle Body, Tinted Windows, American Racing Wheels with Kumo 245X45 17's in front and 275X45 17's out back. Owner: James Sanzi

This 1966 Mustang has been the project of Michael and Tracy Johnson.  It's a 1966 Convertible with a 200 6 cylinder engine, power steering, power brakes, power top, and the very rare bench seat! Only 3,100 convertibles were manufactured in 66 with a bench seat. Michael and Tracy purchased the car in Jan 2002 from an ad in the Dispatch. Father and Daughter traveled to southern Ohio to get the little pony and bring it back to Hilliard. Tracy and her Dad took the car apart. All the chrome, interior, floor pans, and front fenders were replaced. It then went to Lyons Body Shop for body work and fresh paint. The seats were nicely done by J and J Customs in Columbus. The Stang was then reassembled, new brakes and ball joints were installed. The engine compartment was cleaned and this Mustang was ready for some fun. It has taken some nice trophies and well deserved.

Dale Birmingham's 1966 Coupe.  The car looks even better than when our Club President owned it as a daily driver in the 90s Dale!

A tribute to our 2nd MCO President

As the MCO celebrates its 30th year, we have to recognize the efforts of Mark Morley and his family. Mark was the second President of the club until his family moved to Florida in 2003. We owe a lot to Mark for building one of the best Mustang clubs in the United States. Today, many of us enjoy the benefits of his efforts. Mark's original yellow 1966 Mustang Convertible was always easy to spot at any event. In this picture Mark is attending the 2003 Memorial Day Parade in Grandview. Mark enjoyed working hard for the club, but a little fun and relaxation was also part of his activities. Many members today will tell you they are a part of the club because of Mark. This webmaster is one of them.

Would you like your car in our Gallery of pictures? We would! Please send a .JPG image or two of your Pony to the Webmaster and your Stang will be added right away! You can also send along any message to be included with the pictures.
